1980 - 1982 Senior Legal Assistant to the Solicitor of Inland Revenue specialising in valuation for rating but advising also in matters of taxation and compulsory purchase compensation.
1982 - 1988 Assistant Solicitor Lovell White & King, City of London specialising in development and planning, rating (valuation and collection) and compulsory purchase and compensation.
1988 - 1993 Associate then Partner of Stephenson Harwood, City of London specialising in rating and compensation and judicial review.
1993 - 2007 In practice on own account specialising in rating (valuation and collection), compulsory purchase and compensation, judicial review and cases involving negligence by valuers, together with banking finance.
2007 – In practice on own account as a legal consultant as above.

Principal International Experience

1993 – Negotiation (for Kuwaiti Government on behalf of UN) of war damage compensation claims in Kuwait
1993 - 2005 As a consultant to World Bank, Asian Development Bank and OECD missions to emergent democracies principally in Central and Eastern Europe and in Central Asia to advise Governments on the introduction of legislation in fiscal and real property matters as well as other measures to do with agricultural holdings and other real property-related topics.
